Things we should know about the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus

Wattog here, this time blogging about the things we should really know about the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus.  Well, I dug around and found a very important thing about it. . . the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus makes us free from the law of sin and death. Romans 8:2
So what is the law of sin and death?  We have many laws in our land.  We have a ‘legal system’.  We understand law as rules set & regulated by government.  If the law is broken it is called a crime and there is some sort of penalty depending on the gravity of the crime.

God gives us moral laws. . . rules to live by that are based on His goodness and they are good for us too.  We could say that God is a good Ruler.  When we break God’s rules because we want to do something, well evil, it is called sin and sin always leads to some sort of destruction and eventually to death.
Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man: But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death. James 1:13-15

In the Old Testament, God told Moses to give the children of Israel a choice between life or death.  Moses did this by presenting to them God’s laws.  Obeying God’s law meant life to them; disobeying God’s law meant death to them.  God's laws pertained to spiritual, mental and physical health. As I read through them, and there are many of them, I see that God's laws are wise and are given to us to keep us from harm.  You see, the children of Israel were in an evil environment for a long time and they had to unlearn a lot of things.  God had to teach them the right way.  He gave them the right way to stay clean, to stay safe, to stay alive.
The law of the wise is a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death. Proverbs 13:14

The law Moses gave them back then, was to ultimately bring all mankind to Christ, because God’s laws shows us that we can’t live by the standards of a holy and perfect God in our own power, we must be born again. . .from above. . .by God’s Spirit and this is done when we call on Christ to save us.  When we are born from above, we are free to live under a new law. . .the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus.  Just as sin had led to destruction and death; this new life in the Spirit, by believing in Christ, leads to structure and life.  God creates a new heart within us so we can obey Him,. . .so we will want to obey Him.  We can obey His ways of love from our hearts and that will always lead to something constructive, to something healthy. . .to life.
If we’re alive, we’re breathing and the very act of breathing tells us a little something about the law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus.  We inhale, we exhale.  We receive, we give.

In the beginning God breathed into man’s nostrils the breath of life (God gave man life) and man became a living soul. Genesis 2:7
Our natural life and our new spiritual life both come from God.

Just as our natural heart pumps life, so our spiritual heart pumps life.  One pumps essential things to our bodies and minds, the other to our spirits.
When we’re born into this world, we have our ancestor’s blood flowing through our veins.  When we are born again from above, you could say we have Christ’s.

In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins: Colossians 1:14
The Bible mentions the law of Christ, the law of liberty, and the royal law. . .all have to do with love.

Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ. Galatians 6:2
But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed. If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man's religion is vain. Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world. James 1:25-27

If ye fulfil the royal law according to the scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself, ye do well: James 2:8
Now here's this blog’s list about some of the things we should know about the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus, but definitely not all of the things.  These things pertain to those that have received Christ Jesus as their Savior and Lord.  As always, please read the entirety of the text surrounding the Scriptures to better understand the meeting.

Fascinating Fact: The word ‘things’ is repeated 11 times in the 2nd chapter of 1 Corinthians.  Paul wrote to the Corinthians about the things of God.   He told them. . .
Their faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God and that God reveals the things He has prepared for them that love Him to them by His Spirit because His Spirit knows the things of God and searches all the deep things of God.  Those that receive Christ receive God’s Spirit to teach them about these spiritual things.  1Corinthians chapter 2
