Amen Things

Amen things
Wattog again blogging this time about amen things.  We know amen is what we say at the end of our prayers.  It means so be it

Because God is good, He has allowed or meant for us to have certain very good things in Christ.    When we believe God, we say yes to Him and amen to His plan of salvation for us, but salvation is only the beginning.  We have many good things in Christ we can say amen to that accompany/follow salvation  Man’s promises can sometimes be unsure, but we can confidently say yes to God’s promises because  they are sure!  When I was digging around in 2 Corinthians, I found this magnificent verse!

For all the promises of God in him (Christ) are yea, and in him (Christ) Amen, unto the glory of God by us. (20)

What caused Paul to write this to the saints at Corinth?   Prior to this verse he was making the point that what he was telling them about Christ was a sure thing, and not like fleshy, temporary things that we cannot count on.

Here read this.

When I therefore was thus minded, did I use lightness? or the things that I purpose, do I purpose according to the flesh, that with me there should be yea yea, and nay nay?
But as God is true, our word toward you was not yea and nay. For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was preached among you by us. . . was not yea and nay, but in him was yea.
17-19

We can pray all kinds of prayers to God. . .prayers to save us, prayers to bless us, prayers to heal us, etc… When we pray according to God's will He hears us.
These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.
And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:  And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him. John 5:13-15

What better resource to find out God's will, then God's Holy Book?

So in light of that, here is this blog’s list.  Here are some of the things, certainly not all of the things, that we can say yes and amen to because we believe!  This is a blog, not a book , so as always, please read the entire Scripture noted as well as the text surrounding the Scripture to better understand what is being said.

This is a list, but we can pray these prayers for ourselves and others.
